When you think about rapper endorsements, rarely do soft serve restaurant partnerships come to mind. That looks to be the case with the news of Dairy Queen’s latest partnership with Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross. But this isn’t Ross’ first foray into the fast food world. With over 20 Wingstop restaurants nationwide to his name, news like his endorsement deal with DQ don’t come as a complete shock.
This collaboration will include Dairy Queen offering a Maybach Music themed Blizzard. The MMG Blizzard comprises of chocolate ice cream with Twix, Snickers, M&M, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and Oreo pieces mixed in; a combination that is rumored to be a regular of Ross’ whenever he frequents the restaurant.
“Similar to what I felt the first time I tasted them lemon-pepper wings at Wingstop, I feel the same way about the MMG Blizzard.” Ross stated. “They’re both quality products. I even eat them together sometimes. I like to dip the wings directly into the ice cream. You looking at me like I’m crazy right now but it’s undeniable. Meek tried it, Wale did too. Ask Wale about it. But I’m real happy about the deal. With any product I enjoy, I like to find a way for both sides to benefit from my endorsement and the people at Dairy Queen fully embraced my vision.”
An official Dairy Queen commercial is currently being filmed starring Rick Ross and each new shipped copy of Ross’ latest album Mastermind will include a coupon for the MMG Blizzard. Mastermind debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 179,000 copies in the United States.
