Viral Sensation Files $50 Million Lawsuit Against Twitter, Alleging Bullying

St. Louis – A Missouri man has filed a $50 million lawsuit against social network giant Twitter. In the lawsuit, which was filed in a St. Louis area court, Marquis Jones alleges Twitter and other social networks knowingly and willingly allowed their users to harass and bully him online.

Jones says the onslaught of hate comments he is receiving, have caused him to have a nervous breakdown. Smith quit his job, has gone into seclusion, and is currently seeking help from a mental health official to deal with stress and anxiety. He stated the entire situation is destroying him both mentally and financially.

“The nasty things they say about me online are nothing but bullying plain and simple,” Jones stated. “I cannot believe they allow anyone to post these vial things online. No one knows my story or what I have gone through. They talked about my voice, my appearance, and even tried to deny my deliverance. They can say what they want, but I am redeemed and my bowtie is cute. My pride and self-worth have been shattered into a million pieces, and each one of those pieces deserve $50.”

In the video, which has now gone viral, Smith is seen giving a testimony about being healed of homosexuality. Marquis Jones revealed the video was filmed at a recent C.O.G.I.C. (Church of God In Christ) Holy Convocation Convention. The 32-year-old says he was indeed cured and is currently engaged to be married.

“I look forward to a new life with my soon-to-be-wife. We are planning to have 5 or 6 children,” stated Jones.

In addition to the monetary compensation, Jones is demanding that the negative comments be removed and he wants to be issued a public apology.

Nope the Internet is not the real world they are two completely different worlds. And we once existed and had all those things without the internet. At the end of the day the Internet isnt a need its an abused privilege and its been proven the world will continue to turn without it. If i felt like i was being bullied by the Internet id leave. I got enough to deal with why would i volunteer to take an extra beating online by strangers and their bias opinions. The fact that people let it get to them so amazes me. he coulda even changed his name online seriously or turned on privacy settings.

One of the worst analogies I have ever read. Real people are on the other end. Hold people responsible and don’t allow them to harass people just because they can. Why are you so heartless and cavalier? What if we all start harassing you and nothing is done? You can just get off the net. That’s a cop out.

Clearly it’s not worth $50m, maybe not even worth monetary damages. I don’t buy the emotional breakdown but your heartless comments just add fuel to the fire.

We all have emotional attachments to things we frequent, like friends, family, restaurants, stores, and places we visit online. Regardless if it’s online or in person. We’re there. We experience it. To say it’s not real is just stupid. There is no other way to describe it.

And, why is it on the person being harassed to leave, find somewhere else or something else do with that time they spent online? Why should it be up to them to alter their behavior? I sure hope you haven’t and never reproduce. Your children will need therapy. If that upsets you, you can always leave. You don’t have to be here.

What message are you giving to those who want to harass people just to get them to leave? What you don’t realize is most who are jerks on the net, are often timid in person because in person, someone could smack them for being out of line. Encourage manners, not pacifism and cowardice.

That’s your opinion. I’m not sure I’m heartless for saying fuck the internet and the people who bully ppl online and can’t be held accountable for it. Since they can’t go out in live life. The same friends and family you follow online on all this diff bullshit could be ppl you visit face to face vacation with explore with. You have lost your marbles if you think the internet is some paradise to engage with loved ones. If you love them you will be with them you don’t need a facebook or Instagram like to validate that.

Your straw man and non-sequitur arguments are extremely weak. I make my living using the internet. I also visit people in person. If it’s nothing to you, that’s fine but don’t discount others because you don’t see value in something or because you feel it’s no big deal if you lose it. You don’t need hair to survive. Let’s shave your head. Sounds stupid, right? That’s your argument applied to something else. I know you can see the ridiculousness of it but with the cold-hearted way you discount others, I doubt you’re an honest person nor will you admit you now see it.

Sad. Real heterosexuals don’t need to scream I LIKE WOMEN! over and over … in church!

Mr. Smith, next to you Luther Vandross was straight. God loves you whether you’re gay or you aren’t. The Lord is neither as ignorant nor as intolerant as your pastor …

IF THIS WAS A DRUG ADDICT. AN ALCOHOLIC,ETC. WOULD PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IT. THE BIBLE SAYS” JUDGE YE NOT”. YOU CAN NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. WE NEED TO PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER.

I have no comment inference to the “bullying” he is old enough to know this is a chance for him to use this as a stepping stone and make money and be delivered all at the same time…. I am concerned about the lack of sensitivity from other church folks. How they laughed, shared every video someone created instead of praying for this brother or seeing if it was anything we could do as a whole (Christian Family). Anyone with common sense had to know this would be embarrassing and would give him a lot of negative feedback. My heart is grieved!
